Tip: Quick Launch and Windows Vista Shortcut Icons PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 03 December 2007

When playing around I stumbled upon this little shortcut which may be useful to some people. Any icons in Quick Launch bar (that's the little tray beside the "Start" button) can be launched by using the Windows key and the Quick Launch tray order number. Basically, hold down the Windows key (the key with the Windows Logo on it) and pick a number.

The icons are numbered as follows. The visible icons in the Quick Launch tray are numbered from left to right, the icons in the Quick Launch extended display are numbered from top to bottom. Here is a snapshot of my Quick Launch bar with the icon order number added.

So, if I hold down the Windows key and hit "3", Internet Explorer will launch, if I hold down the Windows key and hit "8" Dreamweaver will launch.

A handy little shortcut.No Comments.
