How To: Change the regional settings on Windows Server 2008 Core PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 September 2007

To the Regional Settings on a Windows Server 2008 Core installation you must run the "Regional and Language Options" Control Panel Applet from the command prompt. (It is also possible to set the Regional Settings during an unattended setup).

Running the applet

To run the Regional and Language Options Control Panel applet, type the following command:
control intl.cpl
Most of the GUI applets are removed from Windows Server 2008 Core but two remain for ease of administration. TIMEDATE.CPL and INTL.CPL are the two applets that remain in Windows Server 2008 Core. It is interesting to note that to launch either of these two applications you must use CONTROL.EXE, however, if you type CONTROL.EXE and try to launch the Control Panel this will not work.No Comments.
