To set the time and date on a Windows Server 2008 Core installation you must run the "Date and Time" Control Panel Applet from the command prompt. (It is also possible to set the date and time during an unattended setup).
Running the applet
To run the Date and Time Control Panel applet, type the following command:
control timedate.cpl
Most of the GUI applets are removed from Windows Server 2008 Core but two remain for ease of administration. TIMEDATE.CPL and INTL.CPL are the two applets that remain in Windows Server 2008 Core. It is interesting to note that to launch either of these two applications you must use CONTROL.EXE, however, if you type CONTROL.EXE and try to launch the Control Panel this will not work.No Comments.
