Utility Name: AT

Status: Modified in Windows Vista

Description:

The AT command line task scheduler performs in the same way as in previous versions of Windows, there are no noteworthy changes at the command line. The GUI of the Task Scheduler has changed, but the changes are astethic.
  • If you use the AT command to schedule tasks, they will not be visible to users on other versions of Microsoft Windows.
  • To schedule tasks that will be visible to users on all versions of Microsoft Windows use the schtasks command with the /V1 switch. See here for more details.
  • The Task scheduler GUI allows you to specify support for other versions of Microsoft Windows (not available when creating a Basic Task). Select the General tab of any task and select Configure For to select either Windows Vista or previous versions of Microsoft Windows.

Using Task Scheduler, please observe security considerations that would apply to a task. As Windows Vista has a tighter security model, it may be necessary to adjust the security requirements/setting for scheduled tasks to make sure that they run successfullyNo Comments.
